Fuel consumption is based on 15ltrs per 100 kms plus 50 litres, and price is based on an average of $1.50 per litre. (you should calculate your own vehicles consumption, however I would suggest you use the $1.50 per litre for fuel, this will average out as fuel at Innamincka could be as high as $2.00 per litre.

Scorpion Springs to Bordertown is via the Border Track, on the Victoria/S Aust border. The Border Track is located in the Big Desert Wilderness Park, there are numerous sand hills to be traversed, this trip took us 10 hours due to wet sand and mud, a lot of time was spent snatching and winching. The northern part of this track is one way traffic only.
Return trip to Bathurst from Bordertown is in the reverse order

* Fast trip = 8 days minnimum

* To have a bit of fun and be more flexible = 14 days - include Murray Sunset National Park & Mildura

* There is the option of not travelling to Bordertown and simply do the loop down the one way section return via the bypass and continue along the bordertrack north to Mildura. * May not be suitable for off-road campers south of Scorpion Springs,

* Weather, ok we will be south of the border, it could be wet & cold & windy.

* Return trip could be Via Hay, West Wyalong, Cowra.
